George's Sticks

George Snaith is recognized as the first exponent of the very fancy dressed sticks that are made today, he taught Norman Tulip. When he was making his sticks there were no electric tools etc. to aid him. A lot of his colours he made himself from berries and roots he gathered from the hedgerows. His inspiration was the poem ‘The Brook’ by Alfred Tennyson. The following shows the stick  and his handwritten description
